How Forney Parents Keep Working Out When the Kids Are Home for Summer

School’s out, and if you’re a parent in Forney, you already know what that means: the kids are home, the days are long, and your old workout routine just got a lot harder to protect. Summer is the season most parents fall off — but it doesn’t have to be. Here’s how to keep training through it, kids in tow.

Why Summer Derails Parents’ Workouts

During the school year, the day has built-in structure — drop-off and pickup create natural windows to train. Come June, that structure disappears. The kids are around all day, the heat is brutal, and “I’ll go later” turns into another skipped session. Add vacations and a looser routine and it’s easy to lose the momentum you built all spring.

The fix isn’t willpower. It’s removing the obstacle — and for most parents, the obstacle is having somewhere for the kids to be while you work out.

How the Kids Zone Keeps You Going

TX Fitness is the only gym in Forney with a supervised play area, and in the summer it does exactly what busy parents need. While you work out on-site, your kids ages 1–11 play in a fun, clean, nut-free room just steps from the floor. You stay in the club the whole time, and our team can reach you anytime. Each child can use the Kids Zone for up to 2 hours per day while you train — plenty for a full session.

The Kids Zone is a supervised play area for parents exercising at TX Fitness — not a licensed child-care facility, and not regulated by the State of Texas (Texas HHS Child Care Regulation).

So a summer trip to the gym becomes simple: everyone comes, you train while the kids play, and you all head home. No juggling, no skipping.

The Hours Fit a Summer Schedule

The morning block is perfect before the day gets hot, and the late-afternoon window covers that restless pre-dinner stretch when everyone’s a little stir-crazy. Pick whichever fits your day.

What It Costs and How to Add It

The Kids Zone is an add-on to your membership:

  • $11 per child, biweekly, on top of the $19 biweekly base membership.

To get set up, sign up for a membership online, then add the Kids Zone anytime in your member portal.

Beat the Heat While You’re At It

There’s a bonus to making the gym your summer routine: it’s air-conditioned. Instead of fighting a 100°F afternoon in the driveway or garage, you and the kids spend an hour in a cool, comfortable space. The whole TX Fitness facility stays cool year-round, so an August session feels the same as one in February.

It’s Good for the Kids, Too

Long summer days at home can mean a lot of screen time. A regular gym trip gives kids a change of scenery, social time with other children, and a little structure to the week. And when kids see a parent prioritize movement, they absorb the habit — you’re modeling something that sticks.

Don’t Let Summer Undo Your Progress

The parents who keep training through summer come out the other side ahead, because so many people fall off. The Kids Zone removes the biggest obstacle standing between you and a consistent summer routine.

Come check it out at 127 E US Highway 80, Forney, TX 75126. Stop by and tour the Kids Zone first so you and your kids can see the space before your first workout.
