Friday Night Lights 2026: Forney and North Forney Are in the Same District Now
The UIL realignment that took effect this year did something the Forney football calendar hasn’t seen before: it put both Forney high schools and both Rockwall high schools in the same district. District 10-6A is now, essentially, the US-80 corridor plus East Texas.
District 10-6A, 2026-28
The eight teams:
- Forney (Jackrabbits)
- North Forney (Falcons)
- Rockwall (Yellowjackets)
- Rockwall-Heath (Hawks)
- Royse City (Bulldogs)
- Horn (Mesquite)
- Longview (Lobos)
- Tyler Legacy (Red Raiders)
Eight teams means seven district games, three non-district. And it means the Forney crosstown game and the Rockwall crosstown game both now count in the standings. These alignments hold through spring 2028.

The One Circled in Red
Friday, October 16 — Forney at North Forney, 7:30.
Same town, same district, standings on the line. Get there early; parking at a crosstown game in Forney is not a casual affair. It also falls during Forney ISD’s fall break week (Oct 12–16), so a lot of families will be around with nowhere to be Saturday morning.
Two Other Dates Worth Knowing
Friday, Sep 25 — Forney at Rockwall-Heath. First real road test in the new district.
Friday, Nov 6 — Longview at Forney. Season finale at home, and Longview is the program that makes 10-6A a genuinely hard district rather than a regional one.
Getting Through a Football Fall
Ten Friday nights, most of them ending after 10 p.m., several of them involving a drive to Tyler or Longview. Add a Saturday youth league game and the weekend is gone.
The move is to stop treating the weekend as the training window. We’re open 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday — the four days football doesn’t touch. A Tuesday evening session at 8 p.m. is far more defensible in October than a Saturday morning one.
And for the Friday itself: we close at 10 p.m. Fridays, so a pre-game workout is easy and a post-game one isn’t. Plan accordingly.
Saturday mornings after a road game are the hardest sell of the week. Our free HIIT class at 9 a.m. in Studio X is 50 minutes, coach-led, and specifically the kind of thing that’s easier to show up for than to self-motivate through. It’s free and open to non-members if you just want to test the theory.
For the Players
Off-season and in-season lifting matters more at 6A than most parents realize. High school athletes are covered on family plans — $31 every two weeks for an adult plus a kid, no annual fee. Full free-weight floor, and we’re five minutes from both campuses.
Where We Are
127 E US Highway 80, Forney, TX 75126 — south side of 80. Open 5 a.m.–11 p.m. Mon–Thu, 5 a.m.–10 p.m. Fri, 6 a.m.–9 p.m. weekends.
