What's going on at the gym? September 18, 2025

So last week on Friday, the HVAC went out. A breaker tripped, except it was marked "Back Lights." I had an HVAC guy come out and he looked at the wiring for a good, long time, then decided to come back after doing more research on Tuesday. When they returned, they finally traced all of our issues to that breaker (and figured out our complex wiring). Unfortunately, the breaker was really hard to pull and they were afraid of breaking it (haha pun!). We called a local commercial electrician and they were not afraid to pull that breaker and informed us everything was fine. Long story short, everything was fine and we wasted some time and spent some money to learn about our all-important HVAC system. We also discovered the fan on one of our other condensers was out, and I think that will be fixed at some point--they need to order the part.

The saunas are overdue for a sanding and oiling, so we will get that scheduled soon.

We are mixing up our class schedule with two more Pilates classes. This should happen quarterly, and times may change as well. We want to make sure things stay fresh for our members, and a diverse set of members are able to take advantage of classes--what if the current times just don't work for you, for example.

That said, we do want to encourage reaching out to our personal trainers if individualized programs are desired, and I know many of them are able to do small group training if you like that sort of atmosphere. Over time, some may develop paid classes as well.

Through the end of September, we are offering free three-day trial passes for anyone with the app. We will occasionally run promotions like this--sometimes it will be referrals only, this time it's open for everyone, other times we may run advertisements on Facebook. We hope you will ask your friends to come check out the gym!

Clothes and socks. I love doing this stuff. Have another forty T-shirts I need to get screenprinted with a cool design. Right now these T-shirts are from Elwood and they retail for $30 at Nordstrom's--we screenprint them for $5 each and charge $35. I did talk to a manufacturer out of Peru and they have some really, really high quality stuff, but we would need to sell it for $40. I know some people have asked about sweatshirts... those are very expensive from Elwood so I held off on them. I have samples though, but you can go check it out at Nordstroms. We basically just charge retail + $5 for the printing for clothing right now. The socks we got have very high cotton content, I think 80%. That's why they are $11. Try them out, you'll like it.

New equipment--just saving up some money for a Christmas surprise hopefully. I'd like to replace our incline/decline/flat benches with something that has wider pads, and also get some cool looking multi-link pieces. Gym jewelry.

OK all I got for today--peace.
